2021 15.3 HH Bay Thoroughbred Mare
 
Wailua is a beautiful mare who recently came to us after retiring from the track and is now settling into a quieter pace of life. She’s been enjoying her time in the pasture with her friends and is looking for a loving non-riding home where she can simply enjoy being a horse.
 
Wailua is available as a companion due to a fracture in her right front sesamoid, but she is pasture sound and happy out in the field. She is currently barefoot and only requires routine trims. She also receives 3 quarts of Quantify® daily along with Equioxx to help keep her feeling her best.
 
This sweet mare absolutely adores attention and stands beautifully for grooming in the barn. She has a kind, gentle presence and seems to truly enjoy spending time with people. We’ll also be starting some basic groundwork with her soon, so stay tuned for updates as we continue getting to know this lovely girl.

This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
