Surrender Process

If you are interested in surrendering a horse to The Kentucky Equine Adoption Center, please fill out the surrender form below. We will review the information and then a member of the team will call you to discuss your horse. We always have a waiting list and this process can take a few days or a few months. Please add this to your decision making when you decide to surrender a horse.

**We can only accept horses from within the state of Kentucky**

Every horse that comes to the Center is required to have a current negative Coggins certificate as well as a surrender form, which will be provided to you if plans have been made to accept your horse. If necessary, we make every attempt to offer alternatives appropriate for you and your horse.
