Meet Teelfa, a stunning off-track Thoroughbred (OTTB) mare with an impressive racing career! With 26 starts and $151,307 in earnings, she’s ready to shine in her next chapter.
 
Teelfa is best suited for a flatwork-only home and would thrive with an experienced rider or an intermediate rider working alongside a trainer. She has been diagnosed with very mild kissing spine and is currently on Equioxx, which has helped her show steady improvement along with monthly chiropractic care. She will be restarting under saddle soon. Teelfa is light and quick in her groundwork, very responsive to her trainer, and enjoys having a clear connection.
 
Her current routine includes one pound of M30, a joint supplement, and front nail-on shoes. She is a forward-thinking mare who benefits from consistency and enjoys working in partnership with her person.
 
Teelfa can be prone to rain rot and sweet itch on her hind fetlocks, but with regular care, these conditions are managed. She does best in a mare-only field, where she enjoys the company of her friends. An easy keeper with no dietary pasture restrictions, Teelfa is food motivated, affectionate, and happiest when she has a routine. This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
