Meet Marsha, a sweet-natured off-track Thoroughbred with a bright future ahead. Recently retired from racing, she has already proven herself to be a kind and willing partner as she begins her transition into a second career. She enjoys the company of other horses and is happiest with friends nearby, though she is tolerant of being stalled when needed.
 
During her time on the track, Marsha sustained a fracture in her left fetlock that required surgical repair with a screw, and she has also had chip removal in both front fetlocks. Despite this history, she has tested negative to flexion exams with our veterinarian and is currently sound.
 
Marsha is currently training in groundwork and approaching each session with a quiet, cooperative attitude. As her training progresses, she shows promise for a future under saddle—potentially as a cute lower-level dressage prospect—pending continued soundness.
 
Like many off-track Thoroughbreds, Marsha can be prone to ulcers and will benefit from a thoughtful management routine to keep her feeling her best. With her gentle personality and developing skill set, she would make a rewarding partner for an adopter looking to continue her education.

Adoption Home Level: Intermediate
 
This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
