2021 15.3 HH Bay Thoroughbred Mare
 
Meet Marsha, a sweet-natured off-track Thoroughbred with a bright future ahead. Recently retired from racing, this RRP Thoroughbred Makeover-eligible mare has already shown herself to be a kind and willing partner as she begins her transition into a second career. She enjoys the company of other horses and is happiest with friends nearby, though she is tolerant of being stalled when needed. New photos are coming soon—we promise you, she's a looker!
 
During her racing career, Marsha sustained a fracture in her left fetlock that required surgical repair with a screw, along with chip removal in both front fetlocks. Despite this history, she has tested negative to flexion exams with our veterinarian and is currently sound. She will need an adopter who understands her past and is committed to thoughtful management as she continues her journey.
 
Marsha is currently focusing on groundwork and approaches each session with a quiet, cooperative attitude. As her education progresses, she shows promise for a future under saddle and could make a lovely lower-level dressage prospect or partner in another low-impact discipline, pending continued soundness.
 
Like many off-track Thoroughbreds, Marsha can be prone to ulcers and will benefit from a consistent management routine to keep her feeling her best. With her gentle personality, willingness to learn, and exciting potential, Marsha would be a rewarding partner for an adopter looking to continue developing a talented young mare.

This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
