2008 15.2 HH Gray Tennessee Walking Horse Cross Gelding

Ghost is a striking, sweet gelding with a gentle, affectionate personality. While he enjoys the company of his human friends, he prefers a quiet, independent lifestyle and thrives in a pasture to himself. Ghost stalls well, stands perfectly tied for grooming, and is excellent for the farrier, making him easy to care for day to day.

Due to a diagnosis of grade 2 neurological symptoms (ataxia), Ghost is no longer suitable for riding. This condition causes some hind-end discoordination and balance challenges. He also has a slight rotation in both front coffin bones, which we are actively addressing with corrective shoes. To keep him comfortable, Ghost receives one daily dose of Equioxx.

Ghost is managed on a rotational turnout schedule with a grazing muzzle from spring through fall and receives ½ scoop of Hallway Feeds Encompass™ daily to support his overall health. In the pasture, he tends to be the boss of his field and prefers to be alone, so a home without small animals or herd companions is ideal.

Despite his independent nature, once Ghost gets to know you, his affectionate, “in-your-pocket” personality truly shines. He loves attention and enjoys spending time with his people, making him a wonderful companion for someone seeking a calm, quiet retired horse to love and care for.

Ghost is looking for a peaceful retirement home where he can enjoy pasture life and the company of humans who appreciate his kind, loyal nature.

Adoption Home Level: Intermediate

This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
