2022 15.0 HH Chestnut Grade Filly
 
This young filly arrived at the Center in December 2025 from the feral herds of eastern Kentucky. While she is still learning to trust people, she has made wonderful progress and continues to gain confidence through consistent, patient handling.
 
She now comes into her stall each day for her feed and has become halter-broke. Our trainers are currently helping her become comfortable with having her halter put on and removed, picking up and holding her feet for longer periods, and learning the basics of leading. She has begun walking through the barn aisle and is now being introduced to leading between the barn and the pasture. Every new experience is helping her grow into a more confident and trusting young horse.
 
Flora is still early in her training, but she has shown a willingness to learn and responds well to a calm, consistent approach. We look forward to sharing more updates as she continues to develop and reveal more of her personality. She currently receives 3 quarts of Hallway Feeds Edge 14® daily to support her nutritional needs.
 
Flora will thrive with an experienced adopter who is comfortable continuing the education of a young, lightly started horse. Someone who is patient, confident, and committed to building a trusting partnership will find the journey with Flora incredibly rewarding as she continues to blossom.

This adopter has extensive hands-on experience with horses, often gained through years of riding, training, and formal education. They're confident working with green, unstarted, or more challenging horses on their own and have a strong grasp of advanced riding, care, and management—including supporting horses with special medical needs. They may even work professionally as a trainer, rider, instructor, or equine caregiver.
