“Firefly” is a sweet young filly who arrived at our facility in July 2025 alongside her mother, Lightning Fire, after both survived a severe neglect situation. Since then, Firefly has been weaned and is continuing to grow and develop in our care.
 
She is currently beginning groundwork training and learning to build confidence as an independent horse, particularly while spending time away from her close friend, Pixie. Firefly stalls well and is steadily learning the early basics that will help set her up for success as she matures.
 
Because of the lack of proper nutrition early in life, our veterinarians expect Firefly may be stunted in her growth and will likely be best suited for low-impact work once fully grown. For now, the focus is on supporting her healthy development. She currently receives 6 quarts of Hallway Feeds Edge 14® daily to meet her nutritional needs.
 
Firefly’s journey is just beginning, and she still needs your support. By becoming her sponsor, you help provide the feed, veterinary care, and daily handling she needs to grow into a confident, healthy horse and build the strong foundation every young horse deserves.

This adopter has extensive hands-on experience with horses, often gained through years of riding, training, and formal education. They're confident working with green, unstarted, or more challenging horses on their own and have a strong grasp of advanced riding, care, and management—including supporting horses with special medical needs. They may even work professionally as a trainer, rider, instructor, or equine caregiver.
