”Dixie” is a smart and athletic off-the-track Thoroughbred (OTTB) with a heart full of potential. She is sensitive to your energy and seat, responding well to riders who are calm and quiet. Dixie is an eager-to-please mare who thrives in a consistent training routine and is currently working on building topline muscle, learning to relax through her body, and move correctly.
 
Dixie is a quick learner with a strong desire to please, making her an ideal match for a rider who values a true partnership. She would do well in a knowledgeable or training-focused home, especially one interested in dressage or other low-impact disciplines. She requires monthly chiropractic care to stay comfortable under saddle and prefers a bitless English bridle. She also does best with front shoes but is otherwise an easy-keeper who requires no extra feed and does well in the pasture.

Adoption Home Level: Intermediate
 
This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
