Cashew

$1,450.00Price

2013 13.1HH Dark Bay Appalachian Brumby Mare

Cashew arrived at the Center after being gathered off an Eastern Kentucky strip mine, classifying her as an “Appalachian Brumby”. She was feral, pregnant, and very skeptical of humans. She gave birth to a healthy colt in the spring of 2022. After being weaned, her colt found a wonderful home. Cashew has since been halter broke, taught all fundamental groundwork, had her first bath, been blanketed, knows how to pick up her feet and stand for a quiet, patient farrier. Cashew has been saddled and lunged at the walk, trot, and canter. She will be ready to be started under saddle soon! Cashew has taken great strides in gaining confidence in herself and her trainer, being more trusting of people, and trying new things.  This sure-footed gal is sound and will be physically capable of going in any direction, though she does show a particular braveness when going over the obstacles in our area.  Cashew can still be skeptical and jumpy at times, so she will need an experienced trainer type home, with a calm, gentle, and patient hand.

*Due to her feral history, Cashew will only be adopted to a trainer with feral horse training experience.
