Blame Bourbon
2023 15.3 HH Bay Thoroughbred Gelding
Bourbon is a sweet yet spirited gelding with plenty of potential for a future in lower-level riding disciplines. Because of a windpipe condition, he isn’t suited for high-speed events like jumping or barrel racing, but he’s ready to shine in other areas with the right partner.
With his easygoing personality and playful “baby brain,” Bourbon is currently focusing on groundwork and under-saddle preparation. He is expected to be started under saddle in April 2026, and his adoption fee will increase as his training progresses. Bourbon is a quick learner who thrives with consistent training and clear guidance, making him a great prospect for someone who enjoys developing a horse from the basics.
In the pasture, Bourbon’s personality really shines. He absolutely loves his friends and is often found playing and socializing with his herd mates. His friendly, curious nature makes him a fun horse to be around both in the barn and in the field.
Bourbon has experienced some growing pains and currently sees a chiropractor monthly to help keep him comfortable as he develops. He may also benefit from wearing shoes as his work increases. He’s currently maintained on 1 scoop of Hallway Feeds Edge 14® daily to support his growth and development.
If you’re looking for a promising young partner to grow, learn, and progress with, Bourbon might be the perfect match.

Adoption Home Level: Intermediate
This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
