Bourbon is a sweet yet spirited young gelding with plenty of potential for a future in lower-level riding disciplines. Due to a windpipe condition, he is not suited for high-speed activities such as jumping or barrel racing, but he is expected to excel with the right partner in a variety of other pursuits.
 
With his easygoing personality and playful “baby brain,” Bourbon is currently building a strong foundation through groundwork and under-saddle preparation. He is scheduled to begin under-saddle training in summer 2026, and his adoption fee will increase as his training progresses. A quick learner who responds well to consistency and clear guidance, Bourbon is an excellent prospect for someone who enjoys developing a young horse.
 
In the pasture, Bourbon's friendly and social nature shines. He loves spending time with his herd mates and can often be found playing with his friends.
 
As he continues to grow and develop, Bourbon receives monthly chiropractic care to help manage occasional growing pains and currently wears front shoes as his workload increases.

Beginner - Novice - Intermediate - Advanced

This adopter has spent a good amount of time around horses—through lessons, mentorship, or hands-on experience—and feels confident handling and caring for them independently. They’re comfortable riding at all gaits (walk, trot, and canter), and can lunge or round pen a horse with ease. They also have some experience with less-seasoned or “greener” horses, especially when working with support from a trainer.
